Proper pricing has become crucial as homeowners compete with banks selling their lender-owned homes. Your agent must stay on top of current sales in order to recommend the correct price for the current market.
Then, he or she must work aggressively to make your home listing stand out from the crowd. The vast majority of buyers now begin their search on the Internet, so your home’s “Internet presence” is critical.
It also means marketing to buyer agents, and then being the kind of cooperative agent that other agents want to work with.
In order to attract buyers who will pay a more than “repossession prices,” homeowners must work harder too. Homes must be kept in top condition and ready to show at a moment’s notice. Presentation is the one area where banks cannot compete with homeowners.
Because real estate agents have to work harder today, it’s more important than ever to choose wisely. And – it is more important than ever for homeowners to work cooperatively their agents to present their homes in the best possible light.
