If you’ve decided that you’re ready for home ownership, determined your budget, and met with a lender, it’s time to go see the homes available in your price range.
The first order of business is to choose the neighborhoods that interest you. Think about the proximity to your workplace, schools, family, recreational facilities, etc. With the price of gasoline today, a long drive could make your home cost far too much.
Then decide what features your home absolutely must have. Stop and think about what you like about where you’re living now, and what you really don’t like. What is missing that you truly do need? Put these must-have features on a “need” list.
Then think about what else would make life more pleasant, but isn’t absolutely necessary. Put those features on a “like to have” list. Decide if you must have a “turn-key” home, or if you’re willing to do some updates such as paint and carpet.
Next, call me. I’ll be happy to do a search for homes that fit your price range, your “need” list, and as much as possible from your “like to have” list. Then I’ll set up appointments to see them at a time that’s convenient for you.
As your buyers’ agent, I’ll guide you through the home buying maze and represent you every step of the way from finding the home, through negotiations, inspections, contingencies, and closing.
And remember – my services won’t cost you a cent. Buyer’s agents are paid from the transaction so the cost to you is the same whether you have an agent representing you, or work through the agent whose duty is to the seller.
